End of the Season

It's hard to imagine a Saucy Nancy without Megan, Sarah, and Alli; our graduating seniors. After a tough 2008-2009 season and so much growth this past year, every player on our roster has just seemed so fundamental. We're really going to miss you three.

Megan Greenwood has been one of our captains for the past two years and her dedication to the team has been a huge part in the improvement we've seen. Next year she will be living in Missouri with her boytoy and adorable puppy, and is also expected to visit us/come to our tournaments a lot OR ELSE.
Sarah Arnberger has been playing with Saucy for 2.5 years (I think...) and is one of our strongest cutters. In the fall she will be joining the peace corps and probably working in Latin America doing cool things.
Alli Patch has also played with Saucy for 2 and a half years and is also one of our more experienced cutters. In August she will be moving to Maryland to start grad school and plans to play with their team, so we hope to see her on the fields (and then crush her).

Good luck next year girls!

To wrap up the year we voted for a few end of the season awards.

Most Valuable Player - Chelsea Twohig

Rookie of the Year - Katie Johnson

Best Spirit - Bekah Hickernell

Most Improved - Michelle Cartier

We also decided on our captains for the 2010-2011 season - Kristen Appelson, Andrea Uhl, and Alyx Averkamp.

In other news this weekend is College Nationals Championships (obvi). Most of Saucy will be there supporting our boys team - IHUC. I'm also excited to just watch some really, really awesome ultimate.

Then on Monday summer league in Iowa City starts, which is every Monday and Wednesday night until August. The following weekend the Iowa City based mixed club team we are forming will start practicing. The week after that, a lot of saucies will be heading to Poultry Days to play with a mixed alumni team. If you don't have the privilege of living in the always exciting Iowa City area and are instead stuck in some lame place such as Ireland, the Domican Republic, Spain, or elsewhere I'm sure you'll have lots of boring days to fill with ultimate so remember to do so (I know you all will... I mostly just felt like saying that because I'm really jealous of you guys).

Good luck this weekend, IHUC!

Also I hope everyone is having a good summer so far, I miss you non-IC girls a lot.
